Description

Oliver Smith, known as Food to his friends, so called on account of the fact he can't afford to feed himself aged 31, is a down and out with no impulse control. Having just been kicked out from his family home by his wife, Food moves in to a lads' flat in the city centre of Leeds.

However, life with his new friends is not so cosy for Food as he struggles with finding work and advancing his non-existent career, his housemates who refuse to give him a break as well as the government who Food is convinced are after him. These are the least of Food's problems however, given that due to his impoverished nature he struggles on a daily basis to even feed himself.

This funny young adult book will have you gasping for air as you witness the clueless Food hiring prostitutes to clean the flat, losing his teeth every time he throws up and generally bumbling his way through life. See what happens in this funny novella as Food experiences an unexpected windfall on the slot machines. What will Food do when he lies on his application form and secures a management position in front of the TV cameras?

Join Food and witness for yourself his bizarre, unconventional lifestyle. Based on the real life story of Oliver Smith, this book documents his journey through life as he tries to climb the career ladder in his role as a leaflet distributor.

Will things ever go right for the hapless Food?
