Description

A scientific discovery 25 years ago recently came to light that rocked the Darwinian establishment and prompted an avalanche of unfettered derision, disparagement, and contempt for "religious ideologues" still clinging to any notion of special creation. Here are some of the more tame examples:

? Okay, creationists, pack it up! Darwin was right, you just heard it on the news! Thanks for playing!
? And god [sic] gets tinier and tinier... what a wonderful discovery!
? It's time for the lazy Christian creationists of the Dishonesty Institute to wake up and crank out some more lies for their retarded customers.
? It is always fun to poke the creationists with yet again another sharp stick coated with their nightmare, literally hard facts.

One blogger was so giddy about the alleged new evidence for Darwinism he could only write, "Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!"

The discovery being celebrated with such abandon is a nearly perfectly-preserved ancient lemur-type mammal dubbed "Ida," described variously as the "missing link" of human evolution, an evolutionary "Rosetta Stone," and the "Holy Grail" of Darwinism.

Within a week of the public announcement of the find, a full-length documentary on the fossil was aired on the History Channel documenting how "this changes everything," and a book titled The Link was released with advance production of over 100,000 copies.

In this month's Solid Ground, Greg carefully reviews the hype by offering a three-step plan to allow you to separate fact from fiction about Ida - a plan that is equally applicable to other challenges you may face as a Christian. In particular, he explores the sleight of hand involved in labeling any fossil an evolutionary "transitional form."

Read this article carefully, and you will discover that the alleged pathways of evolutionary development that have so excited the Darwinian community about Ida are based more on ideology than evidence.
