Description
There are two ways you can go about finding a great job. First, you can do what everyone else does: boil up a sticky pot of noodles we call a resume and blast it out to the walls of hundreds of companies to see what sticks. Second, you can simply figure out what a company is looking for, and then give them what they want. I recommend the second. Far less competition.
You see, it's not so much a matter of whether or not there's a "job opening" like everyone asks for. It's a matter of standing out and giving companies what they are looking for. It seems we all got a hold of the same script: "Hello, Mrs. Secretary? Hi, I'm wondering if there are any positions available at your company right now. I'm standing outside your parking lot with a fresh bowl of sticky pasta and a ready catapult."
And then when the answer comes back, "no," as it always does, you wheel your pasta launcher down the road in search of another receptionist.
Sound familiar?
I'm here to tell you that the job market is more than a series of stalls waiting to be filled by another horse's wazoo. It's about what you bring to the table, not the stable. It's about what you can do for the company.
Most people, at any given time are either looking for a job, looking for a better job or are looking to better secure the one they've got by moving up the ladder of success at their company. Regardless of which holds true for you, this book will become a valuable resource to you if you put the ideas into practice.
In this book, I'm going to teach you exactly how you can stand out from your competition as you seek employment of any kind. My job is to help you get a job. And if I do a good job with my job, and you do your job pursuing your job, you will get a job. Make sense?
So, throw out the old, rancid spaghetti noodles and let's get to work!
