Description
Look Homeward, Angel was first published in 1929 in New York. It is a portrait of the American South based loosely on Thomas Wolfe's own life. Considered by many to be a classic it ignored the movement at the time for American writers to look to Europe and modernism and instead tried to portray the real America at that time, and in doing so influenced later writers such as Jack Kerouac. In all a big romantic novel about America in the early nineteen hundreds.
