DAYS OF HIGH ADVENTURE
A SELECTION OF THE WORKS OF ROBERT E HOWARD
"Barbarism is the natural state of mankind. Civilization is unnatural. It is a whim of circumstance. And barbarism must always ultimately triumph."
Robert E Howard was a Texan pulp writer whose promising literary career ended dramatically in 1936 when he committed suicide. His first break as a writer was with the pulp magazine Weird Tales, which accepted his caveman story Spear and Fang. He went on to invent the subgenre of fantasy that Fritz Leiber later named 'swords and sorcery', with characters such as Solomon Kane, Kull of Atlantis, and most famous of all, Conan the Barbarian.
Gathered together in this collection are stories that feature Conan and other heroes; Bran Mak Morn, Kull and many more:
* Gods of the North
* The Footfalls Within
* The Daughter of Erlik Khan
* The Shadow Kingdom
* Kings of the Night
* Black Vulmea's Vengeance
* Spear and Fang
* People of the Dark
* The Valley of the Worm
* Skull-Face
