Description
The inherent theme of this book is that every individual, regardless of their age, race, culture, religion, sexual preference or level of ability has the right to freedom of choice in their leisure. This is a globally acknowledged principle. However, the reality often differs from the rhetoric.
Each chapter is written from the perspective of the contributor and is framed by their experiences, personal background and philosophical position. We encourage readers to reflect on the arguments presented here and use this material as a starting point for learning and to provoke further thought, discussion and reading. The contributions seek to inform and stimulate readers, to lead to a greater awareness of diversity issues and to contribute to more extensive inclusionary leisure provision.
