The wizard Zuthar Zaeffom has a problem. His grandson, Sonny the scoundrel, has been stealing from Zuthar's hoard of gold. Zuthar retaliates with a foolproof scheme. He'll trick Sonny into drinking a love potion so that Sonny will fall in love with the first woman to cross his path, and Zuthar will see to it that many beautiful young women are available to Sonny. Then Zuthar will magically abduct the young woman and Sonny will have no choice but to give up the stolen gold in ransom.
Zuthar stages a grand pageant, claiming to have his heart set on a trophy bride. He entices Sonny into helping find fair young maidens to compete for the prize of being his trophy bride. Eligible young women enter the pageant and compete to marry the wizard. The pageant features contests of beauty and charm, and pageant contestants face mysterious magical tests. At the end of each round, the audience votes on eliminating a contestant.
When Sonny drinks the love potion, the first pageant contestant he touches is a new arrival, a giantess who is massively unbecoming and has a personality to match. Unfortunately, the audience keeps trying to vote the giantess off, interfering with Zuthar's plans. Worse yet, as Sonny moons over the large and unpleasant woman, Zuthar begins to have feelings for her, too, pitting the wizard against Sonny, his only living kin in a contest for the woman's affection. Zuthar must choose between her and his stolen gold.
