Andy Tremont regains consciousness to find himself behind bars - the bars of an animal cage. Where is he and what possible motive can his captor have for imprisoning him? As the detectives get further into investigating the disappearance, their inquiries become entangled with the regional squad's work. But how far do the connections go? Are they just coincidences or something deeper? And if there's no ransom demand, why do photos appear and why is another life put in jeopardy? Who is an innocent victim and who an accomplice?
The clues are in the past and in the past lies deception.
