"Being a parent is both rewarding and also a bit scary. How do we know we are really on the right track? Smart Parenting for Children Succeed helps with questions parents have on the basics of raising children. Besides, we sometimes teach our children based on our growth experience. However, those maybe run a wrong parenting circle for children. If we know how to give a useful and helpful method of positive parenting, that would make our children success. Smart Parenting for Children Succeed provides a good chance for us to review our parenting methods and give advice for better discipline. That is why I recommend this new book."
?Laura L. Nelson, Vice President, Woman Aid Association, Providence

"The first tantrum your little girl throws is scary! Firstly you feel like a bad parent and secondly you have NO idea on how to handle it. Read Smart Parenting for Children Succeed. It will give you tips and explain the basics on child discipline. Actually, there are some skills to teach kids for success by themselves and that is also the point Smart Parenting for Children Succeed wants to tell us. Furthermore, from chapter 6, I understand several mistakes of parenting which I usually make. Thanks for this book and I will be a better mother."
?Lisa S. Bryson, Executive Vice President, St. Louis Education Association

"Smart Parenting for Children Succeed g is a book all new parents should read. It clarified exactly how you can change the ways you react in different children situations. It has also empowered me to be a better father. I wish I could have read this book thirty years ago. Use this as a guide to adjust you parenting style in such a way that you raise a healthy, well-mannered child who respects you."
?Richard L. Edwards, President, N. Y. Parent Association

Raising children is not as easy as it may seem. Everyone has their own ways and beliefs on how to raise a child and it is important to know that not all styles of parenting work on each individual child. Social class, wealth and income have the strongest impact on what methods of parenting are used by parents. Lack of money is usually the defining factor in the style of child upbringing that is chosen. As times change, so do the way parents raise their children.
What is effective parenting? Effective parenting refers to carrying out the responsibilities of raising and relating to children in such as manner that the child is well prepared to realize his or her full potential as a human being. It is a style of raising children that increases the chances of a child becoming the most capable person and adult he or she can be.
In terms of parental responsibilities for guiding and nurturing their children's development, there is a good deal of research over the last forty to fifty years to indicate what styles are the most effective.
Parenting practices reflect the cultural understanding of children. Children develop skills at different rates as a result of differences in various cultures. Children in individualistic cultures learn to act independently and to recognize themselves in a mirror test at a younger age than children whose cultures promote communal values. However, these independent children learn self-regulation and cooperation later than children in communal cultures. This means that a child in an independent culture will happily play by herself, but a child in a communal culture is more likely to follow his mother's instruction to pick up his toys.
