Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is exposure to a traumatic event where someone shows signs and symptoms of psychological or physiological impairment, which interferes with daily life. Someone who is experiencing the following: social avoidance, depression, anger, insomnia, an inability to concentrate, and other debilitating symptoms, could be suffering from PTSD.
PTSD is often associated with war veterans, however, PTSD can affect anyone subjected to trauma or traumatic events. For instance, those who have been a witness to violence or have been a victim of violence have a stronger predisposition to the development of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
