Description
England, 1242. After his escape from the siege of Grimston, Robin Hood returns to Sherwood with the survivors of his band. From there they renew the war on tyranny and injustice, until King Henry resolves to deal with the threat of the Hooded Man once and for all.
Captured and brought before the King in Westminster, Robin is offered one final opportunity to save his neck from the gallows. The priory of Saint Michael's Mount in Cornwall has been seized by a notorious pirate and renegade, Robert Marsh, otherwise known as the Night Hawk. The King sends Robin with a small army to flush out the pirates and bring them to London in chains.
Meanwhile Robin's long-lost son, Thomas, is held in the Tower of London to ensure his father's loyalty. King Henry's cunning and ruthless brother, the Earl of Cornwall, recruits Thomas as an agent and uses him as a blunt weapon against the earl's political enemies.
In the far west of England, Robin Hood encounters an enemy every bit as brave and resourceful as himself. The Night Hawk, a Godless man possessed of unearthly powers, inflicts one defeat after another on the forces sent against him, and plots a rebellion that might topple the King of England.
Distrusted by his old friends, surrounded by enemies who seek to kill or control him, Robin must use every weapon at his disposal if he is to live and earn the King's pardon...
