Description
What if you could step on board a time travelling pirate ship and be whisked far away from the office day job?
There's our Alice, standing on an invisible ship's plank after finishing a normal day at work. She's definitely not a witch. She's definitely not a pirate. She's definitely not in love. And she's definitely not able to save the world. But its amazing what you can achieve when a band of time-travelling pirates dare you to.
Page-turning adventures, tearing through the history books before they have even been written. Alice and the pirates encounter sirens, sea monsters and some epic heroes from history. The past catches up with them in the form of the evil Lord De Soulis, lurking in the Mists of Time, determined to destroy all of time as we know it for the ultimate power kick.
Suitable for young teens, young adults and adults, though there is a lot of rum drinking and fisticuffs. In the author's words, "I wrote this book in a way to pay tribute to my own memories and particularly a friend who is no longer with us, though in a very fictitious sort of way. My friend resembled Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean, but he was his own truly original form of river-pirate. He never made it to Honduras, but he is honoured with the adventures, several slow-motion entrances and some secret samurai wisdom within these pages. Alice comes of age in her own special way, and definitely develops her own magic powers though she would never admit to being a witch in case she gets burned at the stake. It's all fun until the rum runs out."
