William Chambers Morrow (1854-1923) was an American writer and educator. Born in Selma, Alabama, Morrow moved to California in 1879 where he began contributing to several newspapers and magazines, including THE SAN FRANCISCO EXAMINER and ARGONAUT. His work attracted the attention of Ambrose Bierce, who became an early fan, but later a critic of Morrow's work. While his early work consisted of horror and suspense stories, this later gave way to romantic adventure novels and travelogues.
