Description
30 days. 6 writers. 6 visual artists. 48 short illustrated stories.
Writers: Steve Toase, Lynn Hardaker, Diana Radovan, Petra Winter, Nina V. Rye, Sabine Magnet.
Artists: Hazel Ang, Elizabeth Hughes, Pung Worathiti Manosroi, Natalia Zurakowska, Masha Baur, Jacqueline Cuts
Creative Director: Emmy Horstkamp
Sponsor & Organizer: Munich Artists & Kyfio UG
For the one month challenge, Emmy Horstkamp invited 6 writers to pick an artist and form a collaborative team. The teams chose two weekly topics and each partner worked on one topic for half a week. After half a week, the creatives switched their art pieces and used their teammates art piece to inspire their second story/illustration.
The project/book series is called Munich Stories because all the creatives have some connection to the city. The stories themselves are inspired by the themes chosen for this year's challenge.
All stories were written in English.
All editing was done in 2 weeks. (We tweaked it a bit more for the kindle version.)
The inspiration for Munich Stories comes from the November project, an art collaboration between Nina V. Rye and Masha Baur. Munich Artists has taken their November project idea and made it a bit bigger.
For 2017, we will be adding more teams and doing the project in both English and German. We hope you enjoy reading our 2016 Munich Stories challenge and following the artists as they work with their teammates and against time.
