Her father Asmund, a priest of the old Norse gods, opposes the match. Battles, intrigues, and treachery follow... "The Wanderer's Necklace": Olaf, a Viking in the eighth century A.D., flees his homeland after challenging the Norse god Odin's right to a human sacrifice. Olaf's adventures are woven within the intrigues of the Eastern Roman Empire.
