When the vampires found the body of their young vampire and realized he was killed by wolves, they didn't care if it was the white wolves or the black. They just raged war on all of the wolves.
Fearing that the white wolves would then turn on us as well for killing their peace treaty with the vampires, Sabrina decided to stay ahead of the game and send patrollers out to monitor the white wolf clan territory and the vampire territory, in case either of them decides to attack. In the process, we - Caleb, the others and I who were monitoring the white wolves - found out that they had a white wolf in their midst that was destined to be stronger to Sabrina, who was already the strongest of black wolf clan. Sabrina and this new wolf - who we found out eventually was named Elijah - were both born on nights of the red moon. Those who are born during this rare occurrence in our world wind up gaining so much strength that they can take out any wolf and any vampire, to boot.
To jump ahead, we of course thought Elijah would want to fight Sabrina for the leadership of all wolves, but it turned out he didn't care about that at all and just wanted peace between us and the white wolves, and to fight together against the vampires, because otherwise our individual clans would've been outnumbered. We put it to a vote among the black wolf clan and decided against this, initially, but while Sabrina was away, Caleb convinced the rest of us that it was the only way for us to survive, and so we went to the white wolf clan and helped them fight the vampires.
At some point while we were deciding this, Sabrina fell in love with Elijah, and now they are eternal mates. Not only that, but we found out that Sabrina's mother - Kira - is sisters with the current leader of the white wolf clan - Callie. Talk about a surprise twist to our story!
Anyway, the vampires eventually showed up and we fought them well, but unfortunately, my sister Lauren perished, as well as Caleb's mate Mya, and a number of others on both of the wolf sides. Also, most of the vampires died in the fight, but the few that survived managed to get away.
After we mourned the deaths of those lives lost in battle and had funerals for them, we found a note sent from the surviving vampires that said three words: "WE WILL RETURN."
