Description
I was somewhere around eight years old when I first came across one of David Webster's books. The fiery red cover of Webster's great book on the history of strongmen "The Iron Game" was compelling enough to pique my interest and this was long before I ever picked up a barbell in earnest.
This was an occasion that I remember very well, as I spent the better part of that afternoon going through it page by page, deeply enthralled by the history of strength and the stories of the great strongmen of the past. In time, and as my interest in strength training grew, I sought out more of Mr. Webster's books, which served the dual purpose of satisfying my historical curiosity as well as providing training advice could be incorporated into my own workouts. Needless to say, they have been an invaluable resource, and to this day occupy a place of honor on their own shelf in my training library.
Years later I was extremely fortunate enough to meet Mr. Webster and strike up a friendship. Through our correspondence, I asked him whether it would be at all possible for me to reprint several of his titles which had long been out of print... and he was delighted by the idea.
The Complete Physique Book is the first of Mr. Webster's titles that we are re-introducing to the modern strength world... and with good reason. Not only is it a great source of practical training knowledge, it also happens to be one of his rarest books. I don't know where you would even find a copy at any price, so this is an opportunity to get your hands on some top notch training info that would likely otherwise be "lost."
This edition contains the first two lessons: Free-Hand Exercises and Modern Bodybuilding.
