Back story: Each year the Lockwoods field hundreds of questions from parents of college-bound teens, obviously because these parents have received either conflicting advice, half-truths and urban legends from other parents, family members and - dare we say it - guidance counselors... or, sadly, NO advice about the FAFSA, CSS Profile, how to negotiate with a college, the truth about whether it's worth taking AP or IB classes, whether to disclose poor results of the ACT writing section and (pant, pant) so much more. So Pearl and Andy decided to do something about it. They solicited their 6,000-person community, asking them to submit their "burning" questions about college financial aid, scholarships, admissions, essays, test prep and more.
