Book One: Hellstone.

TRIGGER WARNING: Some readers may find some of the material in Chapter 12 disturbing if they have an aversion to snakes and spiders. Left penniless after the death of her beloved grandmother, eighteen-year-old Polly Nightingale now lives with her unscrupulous Uncle Elias, working as a servant in the house that should rightfully be hers. Polly knows that her uncle is hiding dark secrets; a self styled practitioner of the dark arts, he holds weekly gatherings at his house and Polly suspects that he and his coven are responsible for the recent spate of mysterious disappearances in the area. Worse, she is convinced that her own life is in danger; her uncle has already murdered her grandparents and her parents to cover up his crimes; how long will be before it's her turn?

In desperation, Polly turns to an old friend of her grandmother's, a powerful magician, Bert Fountain, who promises he can keep her safe from her treacherous uncle. Bert's twin sons, Liam and Finn are more than willing to help, and Polly soon realises that they both have more than a passing romantic interest in her. The trouble is, she's falling in love with both of them and has no idea which one she should choose. Polly's problems don't end there; Finn and Liam have a dark secret of their own, which, if discovered, could put her in terrible danger. Polly soon finds herself plunging deeper and deeper into a dark world, steeped in magic and ruled by malevolent, unseen forces. She is forced to embark on a perilous journey into the past, searching for a lost Viking treasure hoard and a stone that can open up the gates of Hell. It doesn't take her long to realise that some things are best left unfound.

Book Two: Maelstrom.

Polly Nightingale is a survivor: She has survived being sacrificed to a malevolent Norse god, escaped death at the hands of her mad magician uncle, and lived through a trip to Hell. Now after months of misery, she has a bright future ahead of her; she has a new home, a new boyfriend, and is a very rich young woman. All she has to do is put the past behind her and enjoy it.

Unfortunately fate has other plans for her. Polly's Uncle Elias isn't quite as dead as Polly thought he was and is back from the other side, determined to unleash Hell on Earth. He calls up creatures from the darkest realms to aid him, malevolent entities that have their own agenda, and he doesn't care how any innocent people get hurt in order for him to achieve his goals. The entire world is soon at his mercy and it's up to Polly to stop him bringing about the end of all things.
