Description
Written in 1935, "The Inquisitor" is a murder thriller set in a haunted village considered one of Hugh Walpole's most important works. It is a sequel to "The Cathedral" counting on the same scene, and its principal character, the town of Polchester.
Hugh Walpole wrote horror novels that tended more towards the psychological rather than supernatural, with a brooding underlying mysticism.
