Description
Iphigenia in Tauris by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe is a reworking of an ancient Greek tragedy by Euripides. It tells the story of Iphigenia, who was saved by goddess Diana from being sacrificed by her father Agamemnon. She becomes a priestess in Taurica, where she reunites with her brother Orestes and helps him escape from the king Thoas. Goethe was a famous German writer and poet who wrote this play in verse form in 1786.
