Description
"Stories Of Ohio" by William Dean Howells was written for Ohioan schoolchildren in 1897 but has remained surprisingly relevant to this day. The first Ohio stories are part of the common story of the wonderful Ice Age, when a frozen deluge pushed down from the north, and covered a vast part of the earth's surface with slowly moving glaciers. It continues from there to tell readers about Ohio's history from the ancient to the more contemporary at the time.
