Description
'The "Goldfish"' is a novel written by Arthur Cheney Train. The story begins with the narrator saying that he is turning fifty and is trying to convince himself that he is not old, despite being told by his daughter that he ought to be ashamed of himself. He reflects on his life, and although he has achieved success, he is not happy. He is worried that this is an attitude of age and wants to take stock of his life, physically, mentally and morally, to see if he is spiritually bankrupt.
