Description

"Jacob Faithful" is a story of a guy who spent all his life on the river Thames, although he had many chances to start another life in a new place. His father was a Thames lighter, and he died and left Jacob a substantial sum of money. Yet, Jacob stays faithful to the river and takes over his father's profession. The book is a lyric account of life on the Thames as it was 200 years ago, with all its turbulence, danger, and pleasures.
