Description

Where reefer and el chupacabra merge in a life-and-death fight against the Man. Viva this!

In the summer of 1918, Chancho Villarreal finds himself spit out by his once-beloved revolution. His ideals dashed, he crosses the border into Texas and starts a new life as a goat herder and marihuana farmer with his friends, Muddy and Nena. When Chancho and Muddy inadvertently create the legend of El Chupacabra in an elaborate scam to protect their cannabis crop, they draw the ire of Texas Ranger J.T. McCutchen, soon to be known as the Reefer Ranger.

Fugitives from McCutchen's brand of justice, victims of racial prejudice, and pitted against the wilds of a Texas haunted by rumors of chupacabras behind every bush, Chancho and his friends are forced out of the frying pan into the fire. Chancho will need to outrun his devils, past and present, if he's to save his friends and rediscover his passion for revolution.

When it comes down to a high-noon standoff between Chancho and the Ranger in the small village of Santo Poco, Chancho gets one last chance to fight for the ideals of his youth -- one last chance to stand up against the Man. In the end, only one will stand.

Fistful of Reefer delivers a surge equivalent to a cocktail of one part serotonin, two parts adrenaline, with a dash of grenadine served over ice. This over the top, steampunk western resides between No Country for Old Men and The Three Amigos.

Check out Fistful of Reefer*, and all of the Lost DMB Files, for new-pulp fiction that will keep you turning the pages from beginning to end.

*Newly Re-released and Edited with Bonus Episodes: Reefer Ranger and Del Rio Con Amor!

MORE ABOUT THE LOST DMB FILES:

Some conspiracies remain theories. Others become obsessions. Exhumed 100 years after their penning, the Lost DMB Files will reinterpret the way you perceive the world... and possibly the way it perceives you.

Dime novelist and pulp fiction writer, David Mark Brown, mysteriously disappeared during the 1930s. Until recently, his obscure writings had all but been forgotten. Violent conspiracy theorists contend his fiction preserves a secret history, a history able to reclaim our future, if the war it unleashes doesn't destroy us in the process.

Ranging from steampunk westerns to campy horror, these lost files harken back to an age of dime-store novels and over-the-top stories full of anti-heroes, complex villains, nightmarish monsters, conspiracy theories, shootouts, and explosions.

"Sergio Leone would have killed to film Fistful of Reefer. Harry Turtledove would admire the way history has been skewed. Others will love the notion of the Lost DMB Files. The estimable Mr. Brown has really latched onto something here." ~ Mike Resnick (The Godfather of Weird Western)
