Trigger Warnings: This book is about a war, and in a war, not very nice things happen to people. There is violence, danger to innocents, some sexual situations, and religion with all its warts. The second event may be especially upsetting to anyone who is pregnant or has faced a potential or realized pregnancy loss. I considered removing it, but it is important for showing the stakes of the conflict as well as the genesis of several character arcs.
