Description
For Will James, facing his tenth high school reunion is far from his finest hour, especially since his life has not gone as planned. Dumped at the altar by his high school sweetheart and with dreams of being a prize-winning reporter dashed by his job at a Boston tabloid, he's not sure he is ready to face his former peers. But what he discovers at the reunion is more than he bargained for. It seems one of his buddies had died several years back -- even though Will received an e-mail from him only a few days ago.
It's not long before other people Will was convinced were alive turn out to be dead as well, or married to other people, or childless where they used to have children. And new memories are swarming in to replace what Will is convinced was his old life, until he no longer knows what is real and what is not. The only thing knows for sure is that if he can't figure out why he's the only one who recalls this other life, very soon his memories will be eclipsed by this new, darker reality.
"THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN shimmers with nostalgia and supernatural thrills. Coming of age stories are all too common these days, but Golden's book stands head and shoulders above most if not all of them. He writes with a clarity and sweep of action that truly raises the hairs at the back of your neck while tugging at your heart. Wonderful stuff!"

"A wicked little thriller. Rod Serling would have loved it."

"Christopher Golden is the master of the slow creep--the kind of story that sneaks out of the everyday, so quietly, that you don't realize anything is really amiss until the world seems to shift and the ground gets all spongy underfoot. An eerie, fascinating tale... with style and heart, and a cast of characters that you can't help but like."
--Charles De Lint
"Harkens back to classic Stephen King. A harrowing, paranormal time-trip. You won't want to put it down."
--Dark Realms magazine
