Description
This is, I believe, the first English translation of the notes that Novalis made for himself during his philosophical studies in the years 1797, and the fifth of 12 volumes of Novalis' philosophical writings as a whole. Much of the text are direct quotations from various readings, but these quotations are interspersed with numerous revealing comments and questions that they raise. And they are of course also extremely important for establishing definite influences.
