Description

Murder, kidnapping, blackmail, dark secrets and romance spiral wildly around a young woman as she runs for her life. Fleeing from both the police and an assassin, she steals a new name; Jesselin Judan, and lands on an island to hide- but instead hurtles headfirst into more danger and intrigue. Her mother abandoned her when Jesselin was a young teen. To put food in her belly and a cruddy roof over her head, Jesselin obtained a job singing in a tavern. One night, while escaping a lascivious crowd she runs out the back door into an alley where she witnesses a murder. One of the assassins sees her and gives chase. The assassin follows Jesselin across the country as she hides in one shelter after another. She finds an isolated land called the Isle of Orainn, and finally, after four years of running, she feels safe. And at long last, she has a new identity and a family of her own in the staff at the Divine Bistro where she works.Life is great for a few months, until, a baby is kidnapped and the local sheriff pulls Jesselin in to aid in the investigation to find the missing child. Things heat up fast, both the hot, fun blond deputy, and the cold harsh FBI agent appear interested in Jesselin. She can't let them find out who she really is as they would immediately arrest her, she rebuffs both men. Hell starts breaking loose when they discover the father of the kidnapped baby is being blackmailed.Adding to the turmoil, Jesselin feels she is being watched, she fears her tormentor has once again found her. She loathes having to run again, but she knows it's the only way to stay safe. The police are after her, the bad guy is after her. In all the chaos, she figures out who the blackmailer is, and where the baby might be, and she plunges straight into peril to try and rescue the baby. When she is caught in the devil's clutches, only one man can save her, will he be in time?
