Description
In late 1991, Pierce Everett's real estate world ran hard aground. The bankruptcy courts demanded that he retrieve his beautiful sailboat, Whitetail, from the north coast of Mallorca, Spain, then sail her home to the US, and offer her for sale to the highest bidder.
Employing poor logic and sketchy orchestration, he made what seemed to be a perfectly sensible "seat of the pants" decision. His sail was to take him close to the north coast of Morocco, the number one producer of hashish being smuggled into the European market. He figured that if he loaded Whitetail with 600 kilos of prime Moroccan hashish to bring home, his trip would provide sufficient financial gain to repair his crumbling world. If he won, he could win big... if he lost, well, his world would abruptly come to an end. But then... what did he have to lose?
Pierce began working to make his plan a reality. Soon he found circumstances beyond his control were hard at work making very different plans. Pierce found an uncommonly dangerous climate in which to launch his adventure. In early 1992, unbeknownst even to his countrymen, King Hassan II of Morocco bowed to pressures from the newly forming European Union and began his "War on Drugs."
Readers will find themselves rapt in this true story involving ocean sailing, high winds and storms, kings and smugglers, midnight rendezvous, deals gone bad, NY gangsters, and more.
