Description
René Descartes masterpiece, Meditations on First Philosophy, is reborn in this new conception of his classic work. With the use of logic and methodic doubt, Descartes crafts a soaring argument for the existence of the human spirit and God. A New Conception was built for the modern reader. This text was constructed using two different English translations, the original Latin text, and the French translation overseen by Descartes himself. The language has been updated to comport with modern vernacular while maintaining both, the original meaning, and the high English the text deserves. Edited with nearly one hundred footnotes, with passages in both Latin and French throughout, the read is fresh and lively. This is Meditations: A New Conception.
