Elizabeth Barrett Browning may well be the most well-known of the British female Romantic poets. Having grown up in the northeast of England in the early 1800's, she expressed her love for the countryside in certain of her poems, although many more of them are believed to be devoted her husband and fellow poet, Robert Browning.

Born in 1771, Dorothy Wordsworth lived the majority of her life in the northwest of England with her brother and fellow Romantic poet, William Wordsworth. Overshadowed by the great works of her brother, Dorothy Wordsworth's poetry has often been overlooked by academics and poetry lovers alike.
