Description
Somewhere in the foggy moors of England, during the coldest winter of 1955, a young nurse finds himself facing the madness lurking beneath the wards of Hamer House Hospital. He soon realizes it's not just the poor souls that are locked away from the gaze of the visitors above that are suffering with mental illness.
The Second World War has taken its toll of our young men and women during the campaign, some cracking under the constant bombardment of the falling bombs and black-outs, some unable to resist the evil thoughts that envelope them as they descend into the horrors of a tortured mind.
Unable to deal with their urges, society has locked them away, drugging them from the need to harm others, the want to inflict their sick twisted fantasies on any other innocent victims.
But who watches these monsters? Who has to feed them? Who has to bathe them and calm them when their ghosts come knocking on their cell doors at night? That fine job belongs to the warden.
Arthur has spent a lifetime under Hamer House Hospital, walking the ward, mopping its floor and ruling the corridor with ruthless, loving authority. But now he needs help. Who will come to his aid when the monsters are off their leashes?
