Description
The Fifth Gospel is certainly among Steiner's profoundest lecture cycles; it is arguably the profoundest. The extant English translation by Anna R. Meuss (Rudolf Steiner Press, 1985) is incomplete, however: it omits five lectures, doubtless because they largely repeat what is contained in the lectures held in Kristiania, Berlin, and Cologne. Given the importance of the cycle, I felt that it was important to make available in translation the missing lectures as well. Therefore, this volume constitutes GA 148b, a companion to GA 148a.
I have included two additional items contained in the German edition, but not in the English. These are, first, a facsimile of the Macrocosmic Lord's Prayer in Rudolf Steiner's handwriting, and second, a notebook entry that contains the heart of these lectures in a highly succinct form.
