Description
When Kittie McEwan arrives at a German POW camp in the Canadian north, she hopes the isolation will deepen her relationship with her best friend and fellow nurse, Nora.
Instead, Kittie discovers mysterious codes are being smuggled out of camp by German prisoners, implicating Nora in a complicated ring of espionage. Struggling to understand how Nora could be involved, but desperate to protect her, Kittie finds herself doing things she never thought possible.
As officials investigate the spy ring, the two women's obsessions escalate and the web of deceit and betrayal tightens around them.
Can Kittie stop Nora's involvement in the German codes from being exposed? And at what cost to her own desires?
Set against the backdrop of wartime Canada, My Beautiful Mistake, is a story of secrets, lies and revenge. Compelling and twisted, it's about toxic friendship between women, and how much we are willing to risk in our need to be loved.
