The story centers around the protagonist, a wealthy and independent woman named Mrs. Hollister. She lives in a large mansion called Hollister Hall, where she becomes the target of seven persistent suitors, all vying for her affection and her hand in marriage. Mrs. Hollister, however, is not easily swayed and devises a plan to test the worthiness and sincerity of her suitors.

Each suitor is put through a series of comical and challenging situations, orchestrated by Mrs. Hollister, to prove their love and commitment. Throughout these trials, the suitors reveal their true characters, leading to a series of humorous and entertaining episodes.
