White Hot Revenge

'Sunlight glinted off something behind his shoulder breaking the spell, and Marie glanced over to see what it was. The sight of the two hand guns and a rifle by the sink brought her back to reality, and she put down the half eaten toast having totally lost her appetite.
Marie looked back at Nathan. "What have you got planned for today?" she asked him.
Nathan cleared his head and reordered his thoughts. Letting go of her hand he got up and moved over to the guns. He picked them up and brought them back to the kitchen table, putting them down carefully. Looking down at Marie he concentrated on his plan rather than on how she looked and made him feel.
"I made a decision this morning when I woke up," he started to explain. "I decided that I'm not just going to do all I can to kill your uncle and to keep you alive. I'm also going to do my best to keep me alive too." He paused to let her digest this.
"Well, I'm glad to hear that, Nathan. I've kind of got used to having you in my life," Marie replied.
Nathan smiled, "So, now we're agreed on that we need to work out how we can have the best chance of success. I figure if two of us have guns and are able to shoot we should have a better chance than if it's just me. So today I'm going to give you a lesson in using a handgun and a rifle, and in using the surveillance equipment. Tomorrow I must go out to get us one last load of supplies. Then when I get back we're spending every waking moment training you to fire accurately, and to activate the explosives and our other defences."
He waited nervously for her response, knowing how much she hated him leaving, and remembering how she had first reacted to finding out about the explosives. He wasn't sure how she would feel about being an active party to using them.
Marie digested Nathan's words, then slowly got to her feet. She touched one of the handguns, running her fingers over the cold, deadly metal. Taking a deep breath she picked it up and felt its weight in her hand. Meeting Nathan's questioning gaze she nodded her head. "Ok, whatever it takes, Nathan. So, where do we start?"
Nathan moved quickly to the side. "Preferably by not ever pointing a gun in my direction like that!" he replied.'

Charles Carlton is a man driven by obsession and the unstoppable desire for power and control.

Nathan has spent most of his life reliving the day his family was taken from him, planning and awaiting the time for vengeance. And he's been trained by the very best.

Marie fears and hates her uncle, desperately searching for a way to escape him.

And then there's Kate...

Obsession, murder and passion. In White Hot Revenge, Nathan and Marie enter into an uneasy alliance, and as the months pass by while they wait for Carlton to catch up with them their bond strengthens. But haunted by their pasts, and constantly reminded of their differences, they both struggle to cope as the tension mounts.

Carlton's many sins are resurrected, and through twists and turns each player is brought into the game for the ultimate revenge. In this first book in the 'What Goes Around' series we meet Kate, a self-programmed and highly intelligent assassin, who discovers the truth about her past. She waits patiently for the pieces to fall into place before she reveals her identity and delivers retribution. But the truth, once known, starts to unravel the previously lost memories, changing her forever.

'Her left hand held on tightly to the pistol in her pale blue jacket pocket while her right hand gently swung to and fro the handbag holding amongst other things two personally primed hand grenades. The knife strapped securely to her left thigh felt cold and hard against her warm skin. Kate was carrying light, because she wasn't expecting any trouble today.'
