This is the second volume of Doyle's The History of Spiritualism. In which he discusses the beginnings of the movement and its growth. As well as how he himself came to believe that talking to spirits of the deceased was possible.

Doyle's history details an account of people claiming to have had spiritual experiences and includes their testimonies to support these. It also includes Doyle's own journey in to the world of spiritualism.
