Description

This is the first female veteran interviewed by the Arizona Veteran Legacy Project. A young girl suffering from alcohol and drug challenges joins the Army in 1979 to improve her personal situation. She volunteers for an experiment developed by President Reagan after the Iran Hostage Crisis in White Sands New Mexico called Desert One in 1979 to determine how to debrief hostages. She returns home and after struggling with alcohol and becoming homeless she turns to Ozanam Manor in Phoenix Arizona for assistance.
