Description
A little slip of a girl waltzed past him at a church dance and her scent imprinted on his soul. They made no physical contact, no verbal contact and no eye contact. But one fleeting glance imbedded her image in his heart. Then he dreamt of her night after restless night.
Thus began the love between a 17 year old high school girl and a young man unknowingly headed toward war. After six decades of marriage, their love still burns brightly.
On their first date, a ride on the Staten Island Ferry in New York, Ginny told of how her Polish Grandmother came to America alone at age 17 without any money. Jim had asked himself, "Could this slender young girl possibly have the same kind of courage as her Grandmother?" They wed two years later, in Wartime.
After Jim's service in the Korean War, he became a hired inventor for Union Carbide, a giant chemical company. Ginny was 22 when they became homeowners. In the years that followed, they had good times, then bad when Jim's Lab and factory shut down. After a many years long downhill slide, they hit bottom. Ginny's courage and strong will to save her family and her marriage, allowed them to start over and climb higher than they had been before.
After age 65, they set out to prove old dogs can learn new tricks. They sold their house and bought a boat to live on. Just 60 days later they completed their first of many 2,000 mile journeys.
Join their adventures. Dare to follow in the sometimes turbulent waters as they bravely made a life complete with a loving family. Despite multiple personal setbacks, the couple performed feats that have helped millions of others live more prosperous and happier lives.
