Legendary cricketing giant W. G. Grace gives his valuable advice which stands the test of time on how to make big scores as a batsman.

Dr William Gilbert Grace was a pioneer of cricket and in his long career at the crease, he scored nearly 55,000 runs, with a total of 124 first-class centuries.

The game of cricket changed massively under Grace's influence. He was a powerful man but displayed great technique and gave a lot of thought to tactics.

His batting statistics are all the more impressive when you realise that cricket pitches of the time were largely ill prepared and bumpy, with Lord's in particular considered to pose dangers.
