Three novellas are included in this publication.
In High Adventure, a small plane carrying five passengers crashes on a remote plateau in the rugged Rocky Mountains of Colorado. The passengers include three teenagers, an emergency trained nurse, and a Native American lawyer. The pilot is crippled in the crash, and two of the teenagers on board have health conditions that need specific monitoring and medications. An Emergency Medicine physician struggles with his regret that he was not on the plane as he had originally planned, and works with Fire and Rescue to locate and rescue the passengers who are at extreme risk of exposure in the Colorado winter. As the health conditions of the pilot and teens deteriorate, rescue efforts to find the downed plane are hampered by rugged terrain, winter storms, and a prowling predator.

In Dangerous Games, Gavin, the captain of the SWAT team is working with the Sheriff's department to uncover those responsible for illegal drug transport through their small community, and following a lead that is too close to the truth. He is beaten and shot, and left to die in a frozen rural field. Katie's aging retriever finds him. Katie puts herself in danger to aid him as he recovers, and as those who attempted to take his life hunt him down. Gavin can trust no one until he knows who wants him dead.

In The Last Witness, a beautiful teenage girl has disappeared, and the evidence points to a young man who loves her. When River Weaver is accused of her murder, Colt Santiago returns to Durango to help defend him. As a larger plot is uncovered, proof of River's innocence or guilt lies in the hands of the last witness.
