When Adelia Kreegan first displays her magical powers, she isn't expecting to be summoned to Forsynthia by the master sage, Gaston Camlann. The wizard takes an interest in the untrained girl, and sets out to help her hone her gift. While Adelia researches and develops her arcane reflexes, however, an assassin comes to Forsynthia, bent on sowing chaos and unrest. It falls to Adelia to discover who sent the assassin, all while staying out of the jaws of a hungry dragon who has ventured too close to the city.
