At age 86 Burton Raffel, a world renowned translator and author, continues to write at a prolific pace. In his novel Learning German, written in 2013, Raffel (who is of Jewish descent) is grappling with a fear that many Jews have, namely, is the German threat really over, or will their military once again attempt world domination?

Composed in a mixture of English, French and German (translation included for non-English phrases), Raffel's Learning German takes a long, hard look at the future of Germany from a perspective that the Greatest Generation, and Jews of all ages, will relate to.
