Piper is perfectly happy in her job in housewares at Hardesty's, an old-fashioned, small-town department store. Until the Dragon Lady recruits her to play an elf in Santa's Village. And none other than the handsome Jensen Hardesty, heir apparent to the family store and Piper's crush, will be playing her Santa. Too bad his secretary has let everyone know the gorgeous man is taken.

Jensen Hardesty's grandfather believes every executive of the family-owned department store should perform every job in the place--including playing Santa. When Jensen learns Piper Greene will be his elf, he thinks this might be the time to abandon his self-imposed restriction on dating employees. He has two weeks to make Piper his elf on a more permanent basis... if only she'll stop holding him at arm's length.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: This short story, approximately 12,000 words, is not a full-length novel. It is a short, sweet little snack for the Christmas season. There are no cliffhangers and no steamy sex scenes. If you don't like predictable romantic comedies which wrap up nicely with a happy ever after, you should probably skip this one.
