Ursula Marsden is standing in front of her washing machine, putting in a load of laundry and minding her own business, when an enormous bear lopes into her yard. He bellows at her in rage, and Ursula notices wounds on his leg and his side. At that moment, a group of hunters appears between the trees. Before they see him, the bear runs off and disappears behind Ursula's woodshed.
