Description
This is one of several stories published and illustrated in "The Strand Magazine" in the late 1800s for the series entitled "Stories from the Diary of a Doctor". They were written from an actual doctor's experiences, with the literary skill of a professional writer.
This particular story, "An Oak Coffin" is about a young girl who thinks her dad is still alive, even though she attended his funeral. Nobody seems to believe her, but Dr. Halifax notices that some facts just don't add up. He makes it his business to solve the mystery.
