Jason recovered his smile and sat down in his chair again to ignore her while he finished studying the case. It was quite a difficult task but he managed to make it look effortless. Susanna was staring at him, though. He could feel it and it was a disquieting sort of gaze. Her face portrayed no sign of ill will or hatred or even inconvenience. She was just looking at him. Her eyes were a deep, gold-rimmed hazel and they seemed to emit a smouldering heat. As Jason reluctantly stared back at her, he felt disarmed. Her eyes were haunting and alluring all in the same instance and Jason was enchanted by her for reasons that he couldn't begin to understand. He didn't like it...
