Description
This is a collection of letters which were found in a biscuit tin. They were written by a retired couple, both born in Victorian times, to their son, Brian, during World War 2.The letters describe, often quite humorously, how they managed with shortages; growing huge numbers of vegetables and keeping hens. Even though they lived in the country near Woolacombe ,North Devon, the war still very much affected their family and friends, and every activity that they engaged in. The letters have been left exactly as written, and the personalities of William and Alice shine through..
