Simon Etheridge can travel between worlds. He has had this ability since he was 17 years old. The authorities hunt down and kill anyone who can switch between worlds and Simon is lucky to still be alive.

Simon is dangerous. In the last year he has killed four of the shape-shifting aliens. He has done this because he can. One of the aliens hunting Simon is called Lord Huron. One of Lord Huron's pastimes is hunting humans on his estates in Canada. If he can Lord Huron intends to add Simon to one of his hunts. Julia is Simon's protector. To help him he employs Dream Catchers who are a life form from the dawn of the Universe. Once a Dream Catcher latches onto you it will kill you in your sleep. Simon's only chance is to get to the Dream Catchers before they get to him. But nobody has ever jumped to the world of the Dream Catchers because it exists right at the edge of reality in the Zone of Instability.
